It is roughly the middle of June, which means it’s time to recap what’s happened in the Toki Pona community these past two weeks!
In miscellaneous community news:
- There will be a meetup in Berlin on Sunday, June 22nd!
- jan Wiwijan had another guest appearance on Hasan Abi’s Twitch channel, where among other things they checked out a few introductory videos to Toki Pona.
- Less than 2 months remain until suno pi toki pona, a 24-hour festival of Toki Pona culture, taking place on Discord and Youtube every August. This is a good time to sign up as a presenter!
- lipu.pona.la, the Toki Pona library, exceeded 1400 works!
The Toki Pona tooling ecosystem is growing:
- A team led by jan Sonja is working on updating data for Toki Pona on CLDR, a key database that helps software support every language in the world.
- tbdhk made a website to practice typing using the Wakalito keyboard!
- jan Lijam is building lipupona.net, an open source Django+React social media application for Toki Pona speakers!
The VRChat community has uploaded several past meetup highlights:
- jan Ke Tami combined two famous fables into one, with hilarious results presented by waso Keli!
- jan Ketesi talked about identity!
- seme Alison talked about sitelen pona stamps!
- jan Ano talked about buying a house!
Toki Pona continues to get more teaching materials outside the anglosphere:
- jan Ke Tami is continuing their series of videos about Toki Pona in German!
- jan Janeko is continuing their series of videos about Toki Pona in Polish!
A lot of game-related content this time round:
- Continuing from last time, mun Kekan San streamed chapter 2 and began chapter 3 of Deltarune!
- jan tonsi Puki added a Toki Pona translation to their puzzle game Trails!
- jan Tene translated Cthulhu Dark, a tabletop roleplaying game!
- jan Anata translated an Ace Attorney scene!
As always, some new song translations:
- jan Janpa Onjon translated Otonoke, the opening song of the anime Dandadan!
- ko Luna translated Want You Gone from Portal 2!
- jan Pikesike translated Eat Bulaga and Mesmerizer!

- jan Ke Tami hosts a weekly voice chat meetup for jan Eta’s lipu tenpo reading group. Both beginners and proficient speakers are welcome!
